ACM SIGARCH, Dr. Wolfs Magnificent Theory

August 27, 2018 by Marc Handelman in Information Security, Data Interoperability, Software Interoperability, Interoperability

via the ACM SigArch blog comes Tilman Wolf, D.Sc. (the Senior Vice Provost for Academic Affairs and Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, College of Engineering, University of Massachusetts - Amherst) comes this well-cogitated screed targeting (in reality - theorizing) what some may define as the 'troublesome intersection' of Information Security and Interoperability. Certainly a fundamental junction in my estimation, and likely the cause of much of our woes, at least, when those woes are information security woes... Today's Must Read.

"....I argue that software and data interoperability, a hallmark of the modern computer ecosystem, is at the core of several widespread security problems. An alternate approach is to tie data and potentially software to specific physical instances of a digital system." - via Tilman Wolf (the Senior Vice Provost for Academic Affairs and Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, College of Engineering, University of Massachusetts - Amherst) and the ACM SigArch blog.
