Facebookery: Remember When They Said 5% Of Banned App Users Were Kids? The Truth Is Very, Very Different
Does nearly four times that figure float your boat Mom and Dad? When will Mark Zuckerberg and Company cease the BS? via Kieren McCarthy, writing at El Reg, comes the truth.
One more thing, remember that when using Instagram, your data is fully available/abused to/by Facebook, Inc. (NYSE: FB) systems, algorithms, personnel, etc. as Facebook, Inc. owns Instagram.
"Which makes it entirely possible that there was in fact no real difference between someone under 18 and someone over 18 when they signed up and Facebook is creating an entire fiction around its now-banned program. Who'd have thought that a company run by a liar and filled with lying liars would stoop so low?" - via Kieren McCarthy, writing at El Reg, comes his superlative reportage.

UN Aviation Agency Attempted Coverup, Minimization Of 2016 Cyberattack
Another reason to not put significant trust in the United Nations.
"In an email to the ICAO, the Lockheed Martin cyberintelligence analyst described the attack as "a significant threat to the aviation industry." It had the characteristics of a "watering hole attack" that targets visitors to a website. The UN agency, working with 192 member states and industry groups, is responsible for setting international civil aviation standards, including for safety and security." - via PhysOrg

Another, Perhaps More Pernicious' Form Of Price Fixing...
via Graeme McLean, PhD - Lecturer in Marketing, University of Strathclyde, ensconced - if you will - in astonishingly beautiful Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom comes a superb posting at The Conversation, shining a rather bright light on what I beleive to be the computaitonal equivalent of price fixing. In this case the apparent cooperation between and betwixt internet-coupled algorythmic constructs managing price maipulations on retailer sites. Read it and weep for fair pricing (unless, of course, the US FTC wakes from it's reverie and effectively investigates the issue under scrutiny). H/T

NASA’s Voyager 2 November Exit Of The Heliosphere, Now A Denizen Of Interstellar Space
While Voyager 2's exit took place in November of last year, and the included video is dated from December 2018, the exit of the craft from the Heliosphere, and entry into interstellar space (just as the craft's sibling - Voyager 1 did in late summer of 2012) is still very much a newsworthy item hereabouts. Simply Outstanding.
