
News - via of ArsTechnica - focusing on the termination (with not-so-extreme-prejudice) of some developer’s not-so-little data fiefdoms, due to Apple Inc.’s (NasdaqGS: AAPL) decision (and subsequent enforcement) to bar the utilization of UDID gathering sub-routines in iPhone and iPad applications sold through the company’s ubiquitous App Store. Fundamentally, developers were warned to remove the UDID detection and storage capability, and many failed to do so, hence the outright banning of those applications, and the resultant dev uproar. Ooops.
